Positive Reinforcement

Project Title
Positive Reinforcement in the Classroom

Description
This project is being undertaken as part of a Masters project (EDR8061) through the University of Southern Queensland.
The purpose of this project is to explore how teachers have experienced positive reinforcement in the classroom such as the outcome of student engagement and types of strategies used.  Furthermore, how can teachers have more support to upskill themselves in the application of positive reinforcement in the classroom.

Participation
Your participation will involve completion of an online questionnaire that will take approximately 10 minutes of your time.

Questions will include: Do you use positive reinforcement in the classroom and how often do you use it?  What types of positive reinforcement do you use?

At the end of the questionnaire, you will be asked to nominate yourself to participate in a focus group session.  This will be completely optional.
Your participation in this project is entirely voluntary. If you do not wish to take part, you are not obliged to. If you decide to take part and later change your mind, you are free to withdraw from the project at any stage.

You will be unable to withdraw data collected about yourself after you have submitted the survey.

Your decision whether you take part, do not take part, or take part and then withdraw, will in no way impact your current or future relationship with the University of Southern Queensland.

Expected benefits
It is expected that this project will directly benefit you by providing you with more insight toward the topic that you may wish to explore further in your practise. However, it may benefit in varying amounts for different individuals depending on how much more it may inform and upskill each individual.

Risks
In participating in the questionnaire, there are no anticipated risks beyond normal day-to-day living.

Privacy and confidentiality
All comments and responses are confidential unless required by law.
The names of individual persons are not required in any of the responses.

Participant's data will be made available for future research purposes and data will be stored and shared in a non-identifiable nature.

You may contact the researcher above (Mariana Milos) if you would like a copy of the report summary.  You may access the research in the USQ published print journal.

Any data collected as a part of this project will be stored securely, as per University of Southern Queensland’s Research Data and Primary Materials Management Procedure.
