STUDY DESCRIPTION:
Purpose: Explore physiological (heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, and fatigue) and
cognitive (pupil constriction and dilation) readiness responses from different physical activity types.
Relevance: This project will provide detailed insight into fatigue, cognitive processing, and physiological
readiness following resistance training, aerobic training and combined training, allowing for a unique understanding into acute responses of both physical and cognitive load of physical activity.
Involves: Ocular biofeedback data (pupil dilation and constriction) during a computer based cognitive task before and after three different physical activity sessions.
Data collection: Physiological data will be collected through Polar H10 chest heart rate strap, collecting parameters of cardiac rhythm (heart rate, heart rate variability) during computer based cognitive task and throughout exercise. Ocular biofeedback measures (pupil dilation and constriction) will be collected during the computer based cognitive tasks before and after exercise.
Collaboration: This project is being conducted as part of a Bachelors of Clinical Exercise Physiology Honours research projects and Doctor of Philosophy research degree.
PARTICIPATION:
Your participation in this project is entirely voluntary.
