The purpose of this survey is to investigate the potential impact of a public mural on the wellbeing of Allora residents. Allora is a vibrant community with a rich cultural heritage. Public art projects, such as murals, have gained recognition as potential catalysts for positive change in urban environments, fostering a sense of place, pride and connection among community members. Furthermore, public art has been acknowledged for its ability to attract visitors, contributing to local tourism development.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey about the public art mural for the Allora Community. My name is Margaret Baguley and i was born and grew up in Warwick and am very fond of Allora. I have taught in regional and rural areas and these experiences have led to my current role as a teacher educator at the University of Southern Queensland.
We would like to thank you for the lovely and positive responses received through several Allora community Facebook pages about this project. Many thanks also to the Allora community organisations who provided support for this project. We are also very grateful to the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) who have provided the funding for the Allora public art mural.
We would like to provide Allora residents with the opportunity to complete two surveys. One before the mural commences and one after it is completed. This provides an important opportunity to have input into the mural and to provide ideas for future public art projects for Allora. As part of this project we are also very interested in your thoughts about the impact of public art projects for the communities they are located in. This information helps us to provide important insights to demonstrate the importance of such projects and to seek further funding towards future art projects for Allora.
The survey should take no more than 5 - 10 minutes of your time and is completely voluntary. The information you provide will be hosted securely at the University of Southern Queensland and will remain anonymous.
